DTG Printing vs Sublimation
Our DTG Magic Process
Sock Weaving and Print Preparation
The process begins with the sock being woven in white COOLMax polyamide with a black heel, toe, and a small section at the cuff for the ideal setup for the print. If a black logo is requested, it’s also be woven onto the sock.
Design Preparation for DTG Printing
The design is loaded into the computer and prepped for the DTG printing process.
Sock Pre-Treatment for Fabric-Ink Bonding
The sock is loaded onto a specialized tube and has a special pre-treatment applied to create a bond between the fabric’s fibers and the ink.
Precise Color Application
Next, water-based ink is carefully jetted onto the wet, pre-treated surface, where precise droplets of various colored inks are applied at exact coordinates to form the distinct colors and intricate details of your design.
Ensuring Durability: The Heat Curing Stage
The garment is then carefully removed from the printing tube and placed on a high-heat dryer to evaporate the pre-treatment and cure the ink to create a durable and vibrant final print.

Prewashing socks is an unnecessary step
when high grade cotton is being used.
Recycled COOLMAX Yarns
To maintain the vibrancy of the print, we use a cotton-feel COOLMAX polyamide for both superior comfort and its ability to display color. COOLMAX fabric consists of fibers that are carefully engineered to wick moisture and allow the passage of heat. COOLMAX fabric has a variety of potential applications, but it remains most popular for socks.
For our printed socks we use only recycled COOLMAX polyamide, made from recycled PET waterbottles.

How does your DTG Printed Custom Socks differ from your Woven Dress Socks?
Our DTG Printed Socks are a great alternative to our woven socks in cases where incredibly complex patterning is required. Woven socks are limited in colors and design as each element is comprised of individual stitches. Our DTG Printed Custom Socks are printed directly onto white socks so you are not limited by individual stitches.
What materials are used to produce the DTG Custom Socks?
Our DTG Printed Custom Socks are made using 100% recycled CoolMax Polyamide yarns - which are made from recycled PET Water Bottles. You can learn more about these yarns here
How do I choose the right size for my DTG Custom Socks to ensure a perfect fit?
We offer the same size range in our DTG Printed Custom Socks as we do with all our woven Custom Socks. These range from Baby to Adult Large. We recommend our One Size Fits Most sizing which fits most adults and is the size we make 90% of our socks.
